Spotify tracks restart every few seconds (mobile) Follow
With Spotify version 9.1.94 released on October 23th 2026, users have reported that their Spotify app (mobile) play for a few seconds and then restart from the beginning in the Spotify App. It is likely caused by a bug in the Spotify SDK on mobile devices. (the communication used between apps)
In these situations it might help to use a different communication stream with Spotify. Follow these instructions to get the music playing on your device (and if it does not help, then contact Spotify support):
Step 1
From the MOWL® home page, tap on the hamburger menu in the upper right corner and then App Settings.
Step 2
Deselect 'Autostart Spotify':
Step 3
Open your Spotify app on your mobile device and begin playing music to activate it.
Step 4
Back on the MOWL® app, find the workout you'd like to use and press play. You will be asked which device you'd like to play it on. You want to choose 'Select another device'. If you choose 'Play it on this device', you will experience the same communication error.
Step 5
Once you tap 'Select another device' you should see your mobile device as an option. Tap that and then tap 'Start Workout' and the music and workout will begin on your device.
